Mail Your Gold is a small, family-run Australian business that buys unwanted gold jewellery by post. We started it because selling gold shouldn't mean driving to a shopping-centre kiosk, handing over your jewellery and taking whatever figure you're given on the spot.
What we do differently
- Itemised written offers. Every piece is listed with its tested purity, weight in grams and rate per gram, so you can see how the number was reached and compare it with anyone else.
- The same rates for everyone. The per-gram rates on our Gold Prices page are the rates in your offer, updated with the live market.
- No obligation, ever. Decline and your jewellery is returned by tracked post at no charge. Accept and we reimburse your postage too.
- Full visibility. A free My Gold Account shows your parcel from posted to paid.
Who we are
We are based in Melbourne's bayside suburbs and operate from a secure receiving address at PO Box 5165, Mordialloc VIC 3195. Mail Your Gold is registered with Consumer Affairs Victoria as a second-hand dealer (SHD-0018514), ABN 89 955 776 983, which means every purchase is identity-checked, recorded and held for the legal 7-day period before anything is refined. You can verify the registration on the public register.
What happens to the gold
Items we buy are held, then sorted by purity and sent to an Australian refinery to be recovered as fine gold. We pay for the metal content only. If a piece carries real value as jewellery, a design or an antique, we'll tell you and suggest you have it valued separately before selling it for scrap.
