Why Trust Us

Sending valuable jewellery by post requires confidence in the people receiving it. Here is who we are, how we are registered, and how your gold and your information are handled.

Posting jewellery to someone you have never met is a leap, so here is what you can check before you do.

A registered second-hand dealer

Mail Your Gold is registered with Consumer Affairs Victoria as a second-hand dealer, registration SHD-0018514, ABN 89 955 776 983. That registration means we must verify every seller's identity, keep a record of every item we buy, hold purchased items unaltered for 7 days and make our records available to Victoria Police. You can confirm it yourself on the public register; see dealer registration & business details.

Your gold stays yours until you say otherwise

Sending jewellery for assessment is not a sale. Every item is photographed on arrival, tested and weighed, and you receive an itemised written offer showing purity, grams, rate per gram and the total. Accept and we pay by bank transfer to the account in your name; decline and the same items come back by tracked, signature post at no charge.

Published rates, no hidden fees

The rates per gram on our Gold Prices page are the rates used in your offer. There are no assessment, handling or return-postage fees, and if you accept we reimburse the standard tracked postage you paid to send the parcel.

How your information is protected

ID and bank details are never requested by email. They are uploaded through your private My Gold Account or enclosed in a sealed envelope, stored in access-controlled storage, and ID images are deleted within 90 days of your transaction closing. Our privacy policy sets out exactly what we keep and for how long.

Real reviews and real payouts

We publish reviews only from customers who have completed a sale and given permission, and every payout we show is taken from a completed transaction. Read them on our reviews page.

Security & safeguards

How we protect you and your gold

Clear process, written records and no surprises. Here is what happens at each stage.

Tracked parcel, logged on arrival

You post with a tracked service and keep your lodgement receipt. When your parcel arrives it is logged under a case reference and opened on camera before anything is tested.

Itemised, written offer

Each piece is tested for purity and weighed net of stones and non-gold parts. Your offer lists purity, net weight, the rate per gram and the amount, item by item.

Your decision, in writing

There is no obligation to sell. Accept and we proceed to payment and reimburse your postage; decline and we pay the tracked return postage of your items.

Identity verified before payment

As a registered second-hand dealer we must confirm seller identity. Upload ID privately in your My Gold Account or enclose a copy in your sealed parcel, never through public web forms or ordinary email. Images are deleted within 90 days of your transaction closing.

Bank transfer only, with a receipt

Agreed sales are paid by bank transfer to an account in your name and recorded with a transaction receipt. We never pay in cash or ask for card details.

Secure My Gold Account

An email-verified, encrypted login where you can follow assessment and payment status for your own sales. Nobody else can see your records.
